Chapter One

In the time of knights, dragons and castles there was treasure, slaves, rulers and magic. It was a time when gods and demons walked the earth. And so my story begins... Aenaed

It was a cold Fall day when the Queen Pandorae became very sick. Pandorae's husband was killed in a war against their enemy Malachite. Being without a King she had a daughter to follow her path. Her daughter's name was Aenaed. She was a sweet girl who had long, wavy hair that was as dark of the bark of a tree. Her skin was tanned red colour with her rosy cheeks. She had the pinkest lips and the most astounding dark blue eyes. Her mother looked much different than her. She had blonde hair with dark brown eyes, very light skin with long eyelashes. When Aenaed was little, her mother taught her how to do magic and how to fight. Now Aenaed's father Celebairn hated this, he believed that only men should fight and only wizards and magicians should do magic, and since her father thought one thing and her mother another she never did magic around her father, only when he was out. her mother would teach her new things but if her father knew she did this he would have killed his own queen. That is how mad he would get, but her mother also felt very strongly about it and would do anything to teach her daughter. Aenaed did not know why her parents were so determined. Aenaed believes that her father had a bad experience with magic and her mother a good experience.

It seemed that her mother would surely die and so Aenaed went to the wise, old man to see if there was a cure for her mother. now this man's name was Xitzar, he has been the wisest person that Aenaed has ever known. He lived far down the stream in the jungle of Ebena. This jungle was forbidden to whoever entered it. But since Aenaed had magic she cast a spell so that she blended in with her surroundings. Xitzar lived in a hidden tunnel in the ground that few knew of. As soon as she got there she took off her camouflage. When she entered the tunnel was dark but had light from the dim candles. Then in the distance she saw a door that was made of the bark off an old oak tree. As she came closer she saw from the crack under the door smoke and bright colours. She knew that Xitzar was doing some spells. She opened the door, the room was filled with smoke that made her eyes itch. She brushed the smoke away to find Xitzar. He was found lying on the ground covered with different chemicals from his magic potions. His place was always a mess with his potions and spells. She helped him up but even though he was old he was still filled with strength and energy. He jumped right up as if he was ready to start another spell. He started to work on it again as if he didn't see her. As he started again he said to Aenaed, "I will be a few minutes Aenaed, I'm making a potion for a cleric came to ask for a potion for her father who is in great danger. It seems he has been sentenced to death for not showing Malachite his secrets. He is a very powerful Magician who has taught his Daughter, the one who is coming. They need a fake death potion. It won't kill him it will only slow down his body functioning so that he can get away when he gets back to normal. " Aenaed heard someone knock on the door many times as if the person was in a rush. Xitzar opened the door and there standing was a cleric, the one Xitzar was talking about. She had light brown hair with dark brown eyes, pink cheeks and the most astounding armour. The rarest she has ever seen.

"Hello Sammy, please come in," said Xitzar as he greeted her.

"Hello," she answered, "is it ready?"

"Almost just let me put a drop of this and a scoop of that. Yes, all finished."

"Oh, thank you so much," she said as she thanked him. Then Xitzar realized that Aenaed was here.

"Oh, I don't believe you have met Aenaed."

"Oh, no," she replied.

"Well, Sammy this is Aenaed and Aenaed this is Sammy."

"Hello," Sammy said.

"Hello" Aenaed said back.

"Well I must be on my way," Sammy said. "It was nice to meet you Aenaed."

"You too Sammy." They waved at each other as they said goodbye.

"So Aenaed you wanted something?"

"Yes Xitzar. You see, my mother is very sick and will die if I don't find a cure."

"Oh, let me check my books." Xitzar looked through all the curing books. "Well Aenaed, you have two choices. The first choice is you need to get the pearl and the gem from the Mermaid and the Ogre. Or you have to get the blood from the great demon monster that lives in the Exiztia swamp."

"Well, can you tell me how far both choices are?"

"The first one with the pearl and the gem is in the Ice Gul across the enchanted sea. And the other one with the demon's blood is past the Dark Elf village. They are both very difficult quests, the quest for the pearl and the gem sounds easy but is very difficult. On your way there you have to watch out for the snow giants and many other creatures. When you get the pearl from the mermaid you must swim under the freezing water and quickly get the pearl before they see or else you will have to kill them. Then you must go to the ogre and get the gem from the pond in the king's court. If you go to get the blood from the demon you have to go through the dark elf village and get through without being killed. Then you must go to the enchanted swamp called Exiztia and find the cave where the demon will be. Some how you must get most of its blood without dying. But I will give you some spells so it will be easier. So Aenaed what do you think?"

"Well they both sound very dangerous, I don't have much time and it needs to be fast. So I guess I will choose the closest one and that would be the quest for the demon blood."

"So is that you choice Aenaed, the demon's blood?"

"Yes, i will take that quest"
