Meandering Rivers
An Ode to the Gypsies

Slowly, they travel.
Sand, grass, and gravel,
All three give way to their grace.

Singing and dancing,
Gamb'ling, romancing,
E'er shaping the path that they trace.

Fighting with prowess,
Best under duress,
Surviving the fiercest of raids.

Combine weapons ancient,
And beetle eyes frequent,
They buy, they sell, and they trade.

Sharing old secrets,
So long as you'll keep it.
Telling old stories with ease.

Their feet aren't planted;
Don't take them for granted.
They up and move as they please.

Meandering rivers,
Good will and care givers,
They flow throughout time with no fear.

Let's sing for the Gypsies,
Those wandering drifters.
May they soon find their way here.
