L'vanon Replies!

My Dear Bright Cousin,

It has come to my attention that you have intercepted a letter meant for my eyes alone. I understand that the methods employed to obtain this letter were quite uncivilized. I am surprised at you. Rest assured, however, that it will not happen again. You will be relieved to know that the Teir-Dal scribe who penned that letter has forfeited his tongue for his cowardice, and the Eyes of Innoruuk are, at this very moment, tracking that dislikable Troll "rogue". Perhaps in the interest of reducing needless bloodshed you will be more polite in your acquisition of further information about Us.

I have kept a close eye on your publication, and I find the way in which you present the words of my disciple rather amusing. You print them, for the most part exactly, and then leave your audience to reach their own opinions. I am curious. What do you intend to gain by this? They will either see the sense of Our teachings, and turn to Our Father, or their hatred of Us will be increased by their newfound fear. Either way We are the ones who profit.

At least both you and your audience seem hungry for knowledge. That is a fine thing, and I therefore grant you permission to reprint this letter. I suspect you would have done so regardless of my wishes. Allow me to use this opportunity to make a few points clear to your readers.

You have previously spoken to a member of the Church of the Dismal Rage, which is the Human Church of Innoruuk. I, on the other hand, am a member of what is known as the Church of the Firstborn. We are an ancient order dedicated to following the Pure Will of Innoruuk. We are not what the Humans would call a "guild". Many of Our followers are members of guilds, and many are not. We are merely those who accept the Truth of Innoruuk and know His Will.

Although it is certain that the Dismal Rage walks in the Will of Our Father, and the words of the Shadowknight Aedare are accurate and true, it would be childish to think that the goals of the Dismal Rage mirror the extent of Our goals. I notice, for instance, that one of your major concerns is the possibility that We may conquer the city of Freeport. Although this is a major goal of the Dismal Rage, it is comparatively insignificant to Us. Our Father cares little about individual cities.

I mentioned that your audience would have one of two reactions to these articles, and so let me address each in turn:

To those who would fear and hate Us for Our beliefs; allow me to insure that you realize the full gravity of the situation. Your gods are pitiful, lying thieves. They stole this world from the Winged Mother, Veeshan, and cheated Our Father Innoruuk in the process. They care nothing for you and use you only for their own amusements. Following them can only lead to hollow death, for they are weak. Do not think that I speak falsely, for I have stood in the Days of Darkening with two of your gods lying at my feet. I have witnessed the strength of the Tyrant Mithaniel Marr and it was sorely lacking. Such a day will come again, and the result will be the same. Why? Because you bicker and argue among yourselves while We Teir-Dal follow one unified purpose. We will not conquer you. We will not enslave you. We will destroy you utterly, for you do nothing but blight the face of this world. Remember my words, and pass them to your children, for they should be aware of the fate to which you have consigned them by your ignorance.

To those who instead read these words and see their truth; I urge you to listen to the Will of Innoruuk. Study His Words and allow Him to use you. This is the only true path. The words of other gods are merely lies. Regardless of what race you call Mother, Innoruuk has a use for you. All are one in the Will of Innoruuk. Ask and you will be assisted, for We do not forsake Our own.

I do not wish to overburden you, my dear Cousin, so I shall close now. As always, I hope to continue exchanging words with you. It is always amusing.

May Innoruuk use you well, The Book Of the Firstborn
