I could hardly contain myself! I said farewell to my friends and ran up the trail to Felwithe, following my brother's lead. When we arrived at Felwithe I was amazed by all the high elves in the area, though perhaps I shouldn't have been because I had seen many in the woods around Kelethin.

We entered the city through the main gate. Hamelon showed me around, but I quickly forgot everything that he was saying. I was just too overwhelmed by the spectacle of it all, and too soon it was time to leave. We had picked up our final rations and water and were ready to hit the trail for Kaladim and beyond!

I asked Hamelon where we were headed, and he said: "To meet some friends in Freeport". He told me that they had just returned from a trip to Qeynos and were anxious to meet me. This really excited me. Who were these people that I was going to meet? What had they seen in their travels? We were on our way and I could barely contain myself. All Hamelon could do is smile; I guess he was just as excited as I.

Our trip to the docks in Kaladim was uneventful except for a number of new and different creatures. There were so many that I could not keep track of them all: Scarabs, lowland basiliks, gnome skeletons ... and the list goes on and on. One place that does stick out in my mind vividly is a place known as "Chessboard". There stood huge skeletons towering over the checkered board, Hamelon told me they could kill me with a single swipe. Needless to say I avoided them.

Upon reaching the pier, Ham presented me with a shiny new fishing pole and some bait. I had no idea what to do with these items! You should've seen me trying to get the worms onto the hook. I guess it was pretty funny because everyone on the pier was laughing at me... though I didn't see the humor in it, and was quite embarrassed. After an hour or so of this I gave up and jumped in for a swim; Ahh the water felt so good! Being as the only "large" body of water I had been in before were the puddles left after rain storms, I was a little apprehensive. But I knew that my big brother was close by and would be able to help if I needed it. I didn't. I took to the water quite naturally and had very little trouble swimming to the bottom. Soon the boat pulled up to the dock and I had remind myself to jump out to catch it.

We were on our way across the Ocean of Tears. The sunset was spectacular. Like nothing I had ever seen before in my life.

Next time I will finish this tale with my first adventures in the desert and meeting my new friends. Until then, good hunting and may Tunare watch over you always.
